Academic Health Sciences Research Day in Regina!
We are thrilled to be hosting the 1st ever Academic Health Sciences Student Research Day in Regina. This half-day research event is open to all undergraduate, graduate and resident researchers who would like to share their research projects in poster format with the RQHR community.
Research proposals are accepted below, your research does not have to be complete (conceptual, in progress and complete projects are all welcome). Research that has already been presented elsewhere is also welcome for presentation at this event. Please don't miss this opportunity to celebrate your research efforts and to network with the larger research community in Regina!
Researchers, clinicians and faculty members from medicine, nursing, pharmacy, psychology, kinesiology and health studies will all be in attendance.
Judging and prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Dean's Project Poster (medicine)
Medical Poster
Nursing Poster
Pharmacy Poster
Nutrition Poster
Impact on Patient Care Poster (open to all students/residents)
Abstract deadline is now past. Please see below for poster printing instructions.
The event is taking place on October 19th from 1pm to 4pm in the new Academic Health Sciences learning space in the basement at the Regina General Hospital (the old Family Medicine space). We would like you to arrive around noon to set-up your poster and to familiarize yourself with the space.
Judging will begin at 2:30pm that day, with the award winners being announced around 3pm. You will need to be at your poster to answer questions from the judges at that time.
Your posters will be displayed on 6 foot easels for this event due to space limitations. As such your poster will need to be printed and foamcore mounted to rest on the easel (30X40 size). Printing Services at the University of Regina is prepared to assist you with the design and printing of your poster (pricing below). Attached is a template that you can use to enter the appropriate text for printing. You can also edit the template to change the colours, add graphics, and personalize the poster to suit your work. Printing Services can also help you with the graphic design for an added charge (see pricing info below).
Printing Info:
1) The deadline to submit your Print Ready PDF files for the posters would be Friday October 12th for a delivery date of October 18th. If design time is required the students would need to phone and make an appointment with the Graphic Designer between now and Oct 7th. They only have 1 designer on staff and as you can imagine at this time of year she is very busy, please call early to make an appointment if you need help with the graphic design (images, colours, charts).
2) For print ready PDF files the price would be $102.00 plus taxes per poster.
3) If a student does decide to ask our designer for help the charge to them will be $77.00 per hour pro-rated.
4) You can contact Printing Services at: [email protected] or 585-4488
5) Please check with your faculty/college to inquire about funding for research presentations.
This event will showcase a variety of student research occurring within the RQHR, we hope that you take the opportunity to mingle with your colleagues from other health science faculties throughout the afternoon.
