June Zimmer, Ph.D.
June Zimmer, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist working with the College of Medicine (University of Saskatchewan - Regina Campus) through the RQHR Research and Health Information Services department. Her doctoral research examined leadership styles and approaches in relation to the successful implementation of health-related social marketing campaigns targeted at children and youth. Her research has been funded through the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
June has a strong background in education and research practice. She was a former faculty member at the University of Regina, teaching and researching on many topics pertaining to health studies prior to joining the RQHR.
In 2010, June was named one of the Most Influential Women in Canadian Sport and Physical Activity Promotion (CAAWS), for her research and programming. She was also named the 2010 YWCA Woman of Distinction in the area of Health, Wellness and Recreation.
